Rosh and I at the foot of the giant bulldog inflated for the viewing pleasure of visiting pre-frosh.

It has been a lively week!

Bulldog Days was Monday and Tuesday. I didn't realize that the pre-frosh would have such a presence on campus. But there were droves of them, clutching their blue portfolios and manilla folders, staring wide-eyed at the gothic spires, asking silly questions like "can you get extensions on homework?"......I don't think I've ever been so willing to give advice. It was nice to feel a sense of seniority and wisdom. At the same time, it was also sad because this year has flown by way too fast.

Also, today: Hu Jintao (President of China) landed on campus. This led first and foremost to the the inevitable spate of homophone jokes ("Hu is coming to campus?") a la Abott and Costello. It also led to a large array of protesters passing out newspapers describing chinese concentration camps and holding signs that asked for Freedom (for Tibet, Taiwan or just generally from the government). The supporters were equally as ferverent. They woke Old Campus up at 7:30 with a rousing rendition of the Chinese national anthem and were everywhere on campus, waving bright red flags.

I love Yale.
